Meet the Teachers

Miss Maggie Purr ARAD RTS RAD Principal

Maggie Purr trained as a professional ballet dancer at Central School of Ballet, London. She has toured extensively throughout the world with Vienna Festival Ballet, the National Dance Company of Ireland and the World Tour of Phantom of the Opera in Taipei, Hong Kong and Singapore.

She graduated from the RAD Teachers Certificate with distinction and has gone on to have a career teaching for some of the top schools in the UK including Central School of Ballet in London. Maggie devised the Twinkle Tots Dance curriculum back in 2006, when she opened her first class at Clewer Youth and Community Centre in Windsor. She has since gone on to open classes throughout Surrey, Berkshire, Rutland and Lincolnshire, and they have recently celebrated the 10th anniversary of the company.

Maggie and her husband James moved back to Stamford in Lincolnshire in 2010, where they took over the running of the Welland School of Dancing, which is one of the UK’s oldest, largest and most established dance schools. Maggie continues to run Twinkle Tots Dance classes both up in Stamford and Oakham as well as in the Windsor area with the help of her fanstastic team of teachers.

   
 
Miss Louise Bell DDE I.S.T.D

Miss Louise CDE ISTD started dancing at the Cremona School of Dance when she was 3 years old. At the age of 18, she continued her training at Italia Conti Arts Centre, London, which is one of the UK's most prestigious dance and performing arts institutions, graduating  in 2007 with a 3 year diploma in Teaching with Performing Arts, She performed in many shows including Chicago and Wicked.

Miss Louise is a fully qualified dance teacher. She holds her ISTD teaching qualifications in Modern Theatre and Tap. Louise has nine years experience teaching ballet, tap, modern and jazz in the Surrey and Berkshire area. Louise is DBS checked, a registered Chaperone and a qualified First Aider. Louise now teaches at dance schools across Surrey and Berkshire.
   
Miss Henri Tatton ARAD

Henri started dancing at the age of 3. She gained her RAD Advanced Ballet, ISTD Tap and Modern exams at a young age. She then went on to study her performance and teacher training at The Theatre School, Edinburgh in 1987, finally attending the prestigious West Street School of Dance in Covent Garden, London for 3 years gaining a first class Diploma in Dance. On leaving college, Henri enjoyed a career as a professional dancer. Her experience on stage includes The Broadway Musical Company touring Japan, The Lido Paris World Tour, Dancer for Royal Caribbean Cruise Lines, Jean Ann Ryan Production Crusies where she performed in Grease, Snow White & Cinderella at the Eden Court Theatre Inverness, Dancer at DisneyLand Paris and performing with the Scottish Ballet in Romeo and Juliet.

Henri and her husband (also a professional dancer) moved to the Stamford area in 2001. Henri joined the Welland School of Dancing teaching staff in 2011. She also teaches for Twinkle Tots Dance in Brooke Priory School, Oakham and in Wymondham. Henri is an associate of the Royal Academy of Dance, CRB police checked, is a licensed chaperone and holds public liability insurance.
   
Miss Katherine Husband RTS RAD, National Diploma (Professional Dance)
Katherine joined the Twinkle Tots Dance team in 2014, and teaches at our Windsor branch. Katherine started dancing at the age of five at her local dance school where she went on to complete her graded and vocational exams in Ballet, Tap and Modern. At the age of 18 she continued her training at the Stella Mann College of Performing Arts graduating with a National Diploma in Professional Dance and a Diploma in Dance Instruction. Whilst in training at Stella Mann Katherine took part in numerous shows and performances. She also gained the chance to dance at corporate events such as the ‘Make a Wish Charity Ball’ at the Dorchester Hotel and ‘Move It’ a dance convention at London Olympia.

Katherine then furthered her teaching training by completing her certificate in Dance Education at the ISTD Kingston Teacher Training College graduating in 2014, and in 2016 graduating from the RAD Certificate in Ballet teaching studies course, giving her Royal Academy of Dance registered teacher status. Previously Katherine has taught at the Jeanne Bamforth School of Dancing and The Louise Hudson School of Dance. Like all our teachers Katherine holds a DBS police check, public liability insurance and she is also a first aider.
   
Miss Aimee Palethorpe ISTD DDI, DDE
Miss Aimee has been dancing from the age of three. she trained in Ballet, Tap and Modern dance with the Jeannine Greville dance academy until 18 years of age. In 2008 Aimee gained her BTEC in Performing Arts from Cox Green school, Maidenhead. From there she went on to take her ISTD DDI and DDE teaching qualifications in Tap and Modern at the Linda Sweetzer teacher training college.

Aimee has taught for Blossom Ballet, Dance Connection, Linda Sweetzer, Stage Plus Performing Arts, Azure Theatre School, the Jeanine Greville Dance Academy and Orchard Dance Academy. She now teaches full time free and graded classes to students aged 2 through to adults, and is really looking forward to coming to work at Twinkle Tots Dance in September 2018.

   
Miss Louise Angell BA (Hons) in Dance
Louise started dancing at the age of 5 at Jessica Ferguson school in Slough and Joan Selley School of Dancing in Cippenham where she trained in RAD Ballet, Tap and Modern and Scottish. Louise competed at the Slough and Maidenhead festivals and danced at the Royal Windsor Rose Shows. In 2000, she gained a BTEC National Diploma in Performing Arts at Reading Arts College and went on to perform in shows including Pirates of Penzance, Fiddler on the roof, Me and My Girl and Oliver.

Louise graduated from Roehampton University in 2004 with a BA HONS in Dance specialising in contemporary dance and since then has been teaching the techniques within school settings in the local area. In 2011, she gained the Certificate in higher education: Dance Education with the RAD. Louise is looking forward to meeting all the parents and pupils of Twinkle Tots and looking forward to a great year.
   
Miss Alex Watson BA (Hons) in Dance
Miss Alex first started out at her local dance school at the age of 3 studying ISTD Ballet, Tap and Modern. She has just finished her training in professional dance after three years at Creative Academy graduating with a First class honours degree. Since finishing her degree she has been working as a freelance dance teacher, teaching in primary schools and local dance schools. She has also been doing some volunteer work with Stopgap dance Company with their youth company. Miss Alex is DBS checked.

Alex has trained in many styles of dance including, Ballet, Tap, Jazz, Contemporary, Bollywood and many more; she also has had a lot of experience in teaching young children. She has performed throughout her training at theatres such as 'Her Majesties', 'Sadler's Well's', and 'Trafalgar Square'. Alex plans to further her training in doing her Diploma in Dance Instruction (DDI) in September 2016.
